I am Ea Polman, a multidisciplinary designer with a special focus on textiles and graphics. During my studies at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy (2011) and the Sandberg Institute (2015), I discovered a fascination for the tactility and structure of textiles. Combining this material fascination with my love for graphics, results in work full of sensory detail.
My work celebrates the materiality of objects and space, and embraces the innovative power of experimental creative processes. I enjoy developing custom made designs that influence the way we experience the physical world around us. Adding to walls, windows, floors, ceilings, etc.
Aside from my freelance practice, I guide future artists and designers in material experimentation at the internationally renowned Gerrit Rietveld Academy. Besides my teachings, I am an internal advisor at the same academy, establishing long-term visions on the future of art and design education.
